He then ventured to Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and worked on a Bering Sea crab boat for over a decade. After suffering from a career-ending injury, Hugh returned to his home state of Montana and endured a year of rehabilitation. Hugh’s personal experience gave him a desire to pursue a career in medicine. He began training as a physician assistant and earned his Master of Science from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, graduating with honors. Hugh is currently board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. After spending some time working as a physician assistant at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Hugh developed a passion for family medicine. He went on to work with an orthopedic surgeon and focused on musculoskeletal conditions, before transitioning full-time into family practice. Hugh enjoys meeting patients and helping them get to the root of their health issues. Outside of the clinic, Hugh enjoys training and racing bikes competitively with his wife, who is a fitness instructor and personal trainer. Hugh and his family like to stay active outdoors as much as possible.
