Getting to know Dr. Ian Goldberg
Dr. Ian Goldberg is a board-certified Adult and Child/Adolescent psychiatrist and a New York State licensed physician who has worked with a wide range of patients in private, hospital, and community-based settings since 1988. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Cape Town Faculty of Health Sciences, completed his internship at Somerset Hospital, and pursued fellowships at Georgetown University and Bellevue Hospital Center.
His approach is eclectic, utilizing various modalities including psychodynamic perspectives and medication management to improve the quality of life for his patients. Dr. Goldberg's psychiatric and medical work has been the backbone of his professional career both in and outside of the US. His work continues to teach, inspire, and challenge him-from the situations he has encountered to the people he has had the honor of working with, both as colleagues and patients.

Because we accept insurance, we can reduce out-of-pocket expenses and still offer high-quality care. You may not have any cost related to your visit with us, depending upon your insurance plan. Most patients pay a small copay per visit, subject to any deductible or coinsurance that your health plan has. The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services determines appropriate billing guidelines. These guidelines depend on the length of the visit and the complexity and severity of your diagnosis. For this reason, we need to wait until after the visit for the final determination. We then submit the claim to your insurance company. The charges are calculated based upon pre-negotiated prices with your insurance company. Your insurance company will then determine what amount, if any, is your responsibility per your insurance plan.
