Dr. Ife J. Rodney is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist with extensive experience in all aspects of medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology. She attended Howard University for her medical education and dermatology residency, and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology. She then continued to expand her knowledge with a highly regarded dermatopathology fellowship at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, where she developed additional expertise in the diagnosis and management of skin cancer.
Dr. Rodney has received advanced training in injectables such as Botox™, Juvederm®, Belotero®, Restylane®, Voluma®, and Sculptura®, and cosmetic procedures such as microneedling, microdermabrasion, PRP, chemical peels and split earlobe repair.
She is also the author of numerous articles and textbook chapters and has presented at various national and international meetings. Her areas of expertise include cosmetic procedures, hair and scalp disorders, skin cancer prevention and detection and general dermatology.
Dr. Rodney has been practicing in the Washington DC Metropolitan area since 2007, and is currently accepting new patients. She is committed to providing the highest quality medical care in a patient-friendly environment.

The appointment was so delayed, I ended up missing a following appointment I had scheduled for later that day and had to pay a late fee. It seems that multiple patients are all assigned the same appointment time so they must’ve known in advance that everything was going to be late. It’s very frustrating and inconsiderate to waste my time in that way. Additionally, when the doctor did arrive, she seemed to rush through my chart and prescribed me medications that are unavailable and my pharmacy is still waiting a week later to get in contact for a substitute. Overall, very disappointed

Dr. Rodney is surely knowledgeable about skin care. However, I felt a bit put off that within 3 minutes of our first meeting, she recommended an expensive in-office treatment, not generally covered by insurance, without explaining much about side effects (ie, sun sensitivity, and I was headed to a baseball game after where I would be sitting in direct sun for hours). The office seems high-volume, and some may prefer her super-direct manner, but to me it felt more like high-pressure sales than medical care. I probably will not be back.

I was seen with 10 minutes of my appointment which was a wonderful improvement from my last dermatologist. She did a thorough skin exam and actually asked how my experience was. First doctor to show such thoughtfulness.

I'm going to keep this short and simple do not go to her because she does not truly have compassion or care for her patients. I waited over an hour on my first and last visit with her just to be rushing when I actually met her face to face. It was not a caring bone in her body she just wanted to rush and get the next person in. I don't know how she is getting all these good reviews, because when I was there it was a waiting room full of people complaining.I ask one person is it always like this and they stated yes. Starting to think the good reviews are fake.

I've been to this office twice. Wait time is more than an hour and when you finally get to see her, she rushes you. Listens for 2 minutes and then recommends a generic treatment. Also, when you call the office, she picks up the phone and pretends you are not really speaking to the doctor. Unfortunately, her beautiful accent gives it away every time. I found this to be very unprofessional.

I read some reviews that said she rushed and her accent made it hard to understand. She WAS very busy but listened to all my concerns. Her accent was light and sweet and easy to understand. She was professional and offered solutions. The staff was very nice. Drs have to see as many as they can to pay for a practice and unfortunately, they get backed up. She may need to make 30 min appt slots instead of 20 if possible.

Dr. Rodney was an unexpected pleasure. Her bedside manner was amazing. She listened to my concerns and understood them. She explained to me what my diagnosis was and performed a skin biopsy to help get a better understanding of what’s going on. The biopsy went on without a hitch or any pain. I can’t wait to see the end results once treatment begins. I love that the office is so tech savvy, checked in and completed my paperwork on an iPad. There was a self serve beverage center with a Keurig and a variety of coffees and teas and a mini cooler filled with bottled water which helped me to relax before being seen. My prescription was sent to my pharmacy and ready for pickup before I made it to my car!!! I’m looking forward my follow up in 10 days.
