Her main focus is Women’s Digestive Health, IBD, and IBS (irritable bowel syndrome). However, she is happy to see patients for any issues related to the GI tract. As a DO she believes in treating the patient as a whole and is open to discussing alternative therapies when appropriate.
Verified Patient Reviews
The wait time is definitely long (I've waited anywhere from 5 minutes to over an hour), but I like Dr. Diamond. I was worried after reading some previous reviews, especially because I am anxious about doctors in general, but I've seen her several times now. She is definitely to-the-point and a little brusque, but she's very professional, takes my concerns seriously, and has done a good job explaining next steps. Also, Beverly is lovely and sets a good tone for appointments.
First off the appointment time given meant absolutely nothing, major wait ti,e. When I finally met the doctor she had the most dry unenthusiastic attitude.. Take my advise and change professions lady, I wont be back and will share the news for anybody I know that looking for A GASTRO DOC.
When I got a referral for Dr. Diamond I was a bit hesitant because of the reviews from previous patients but you never know. Unfortunately, she lived true to the criticism... She has an impressive educational background and would probably do well in teaching instead of practicing. During my consultation, she had a very hard time listening to my thoughts and corrected/undermined every symptom I tried to describe. As I shared my medical history, she would question it and make condescending comments like "I doubt it". The most unprofessional thing I heard from her was "So what do you want me to do?" No respect for the patient's time, concerns, and needs. Trust the repeating themes people have said about her - this doctor is an expert by book, please go see someone else who actually cares.
Extremely long wait time.
No wait time at all, friendly staff from the moment you walk in until the moment you head out. Absolutely fantastic and professional in every way.
Really long wait time but Dr Diamond was apologetic and listened to my concerns. I could tell she felt rushed from being overbooked but still felt I got my questions answered.
The doctor has a very bad bedside manner. She was condescending and fairly rude. I’m going to take my business to another doctor who will treat me with more respect.
She was wonderful and so kind. The first doctor I've been to who really explained things to me.
Dr. Diamond was a compassionate health care provider who worked with me to treat my issues. She was always upfront about my options and answered any questions I had about treatment.
Nice and friendly always and not a long wait.
She help me understand my problem ,and we going in the righ direction.
Very unprofessional. Wait time was over an hour. When the doctor showed up, she was rude. As well she took a call as I was explaining to her my situation. I would not recommend her to anyone,
I liked Dr. Diamond and her staff well enough, but the wait time was unreasonably long.
The appointment was fine however she wrote me a script to get a test done but said it is going to be hard for me to find a place that will do the test. I called every hospital in IL and no one would take an outside script. She also put me on medication that made me more sick. I called her office FOUR times and the never called me back. I would not recommend her or her office.
She's very informative.
Not in suite 201 right now, they are in suite 301. Pretty painless and straight forward. Got the information I needed and was on my way with good recommendations for next steps. Doctor was pretty thorough in her explanation of what she was treating me for and why. I would recommend her to someone else.
Absolutely lovely, helpful and cares about her patients.
Both Beverly and Dr. Diamond were friendly, patient, asked great questions, and provided clear and helpful direction about my next steps. I felt that they took my concerns seriously and respected the impact that this issue was having on my life. I would definitely recommend them to a friend!
She was very caring and explained everything to me thoroughly. Very satisfied.
I think she is knowledgeable. However, she rattled off everything very fast I was not able to capture it all. and she didn't write down instructions or prescriptions. My pharmacy called today to say my prescription was ready and I don't know what she ordered. this was a first diagnosis for me and I know nothing about it. if she had acted like she was interested, cared and wrote down what she told me it would have helped. In addition, she brought her dog into the patient's room, introduced her arrogantly, and did not even bother to shake hands like most doctors do to new patients. so if you want abrupt, indifferent service with a dog sitting in the room, then by all means go with her.
Everyone in that office was extremely professional and nice. They made me feel very comfortable and answered all the questions I had. Excellent doctor and staff.
She was quite professional and personable. Great visit.
I only had a few minutes in the same room with Dr. Diamond where she spent half the time half-listening to me and the other half criticizing me because I couldn't remember some specific details about my past six months leading up to my visit. I was uncomfortable with her treatment plan at first because I didn't understand the reason behind the decisions and she got annoyed and defensive, which only added to my discomfort. If it weren't for the bedside manner of one of the nurses, I would likely have left without finishing the visit.
She is extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.
I was disappointed that medication was the only answer to my problems when I know there are alternatives.
I wish I could forget the experience I had with Dr. Diamond, although it has become a joke whenever I'm talking to someone about my experiences with IBS. I've had issues with my gi tract for as long as I can remember and finally had the funds where I could see a specialist. After explaining to her that I drink 60-80oz of water a day and eat a well balanced, healthy, primarily plant based diet...I was explaining a new concern of my sudden inability to tolerate dairy. I told her that I had a few sips of my sister's milkshake and was running to the bathroom in no time. Her response was "Well, ice cream doesn't sound like part of a healthy, well balanced diet now does it?" All I could think to myself was, "Are you even a doctor?". The implication was either that I lied about my diet, or that no one can eat a wall balanced diet and have an occasional treat. A doctor should understand there's nothing inherently wrong with that, and that you can in fact eat healthfully while still enjoying wrongly labeled "bad foods" such as ice cream, pizza, a burger, etc. She then proceeded to tell me that I don't have any problem and I should just start taking miralax every day until my constipation "clears up". The constipation that I've been dealing with since high school and that I've gone to the hospital for because I will go 15-20 days without a BM. I don't know if it's more sad or more funny, but I would definitely recommend that you steer clear of this office.
She is a very nice doctor and listens very intently and asks a lot of questions. Maybe other people had issues if the office was very busy, but I came in even a half hour early and was taken care of immediately. All of the staff is very friendly and I felt very comfortable.
Beverly and Dr. Diamond were professional, nice, and informative with information regarding my visit. They were clear and helpful with the diagnosis and treatment instructions.
I was not thrilled with my first two visits with Dr. Diamond. She seemed incredibly frustrated with me for not knowing more about my previous diagnoses (or lack thereof) and she was very gruff with her front desk staff, even shouting at one point. By the third visit, she had a much more pleasant bedside manner but I still go the impression that she thought I was wasting her time by being there.
Nurse was great. Doctor was great. Their dog was great.
Dr. Diamond was excellent. She answered all of my questions, listened carefully to my symptoms, and came up with a plan of care that worked for me. The staff was very friendly and got me into a room right away.
Listens to the patients and doesn't just jump to medication!
I had a great experience. Dr. Diamond was clear in her explanation of what she thinks my condition is and equally clear with how she intends to treat it. I especially appreciated that she wanted my feedback as to whether I was ok with her intended treatment plan. Her assistant was also quite pleasant during the time I spent with her. I would highly recommend Dr. Diamond based on my initial visit. If that should change for any reason going forward, I will update accordingly, but I have no reason to suspect that will be necessary. Thanks Dr. Diamond and staff.
Dr. Diamond was very professional and I felt like she cared about helping me find a solution. She offered OTC solutions to try first before having to resort to perscriptions which I really appreciated. I have been to a few other gastroenterologists and am the most optimistic about my treatment and expectations for results with Dr. Diamond.
Dr. Diamond is not very nice, and didn't see care about my concerns.
Bedside manner isn't great. Not open to other doctors' opinions.
Dr. IIysa Diamond is my kinda Doctor. She asked a ton of questions, showed care and concern but was quick and to the point. She didn't dance around the subject & I had a great overall experience.
Dr Diamond was very professional and attentive. Explained my options and her recommendations
Dr. Diamond was just great. I got in to see her right away and her support staff and nurse were so personable and friendly. Really made me feel at ease. She gave me great advice, and I appreciated her approach to start out taking things slow before jumping into potentially unnecessary steps to solve my problem. An added plus is that Thorek waves your co-pay, which is amazing. I'd highly recommend Dr. Diamond.
I'm not confident that Dr. Diamond is organized enough to provide good treatment. She seems to do the minimum required rather than making sure that the patient has all the information to follow the proposed course of treatment.
I'd seen 5 doctors with no answers and while we are still trying to figure things out Dr. Diamond was the first one to really give me a clear answer of what things could be going on and how we were going to work on them. I appreciate her trying to help me out without freaking me out.
She recommended that I see a primary care physician first and called ahead to see if he could see me right away- friendly staff and thorough. Would see her again, when I have a GI related need.
Very Pleasnant and I felt at ease
Dr. Diamond was very thorough and professional. She did a great job at following through with my tests and treatment. I REALLY appreciated the personal phone calls to give me test results. I would definitely recommend her!
I found Dr. Diamond's professional and caring attitude refreshing. I did not feel rushed through my appointments and she was very thorough in diagnosing my problem. Once treatment was started she did follow up with me occasionally to see how I was doing. I highly recommend Dr. Diamond.
Dr Diamond is a great doctor. Her genuine concern for her patients is obvious, her approach to treat is aggressive, yet all risks are carefully calculated. Dr Diamond also takes great care to review EVERYTHING, & I appreciate her extreme attention to detail as well as her honesty. I'm thankful I'm under her care!
As I told Dr Diamond today, I'm really happy with my PCP referral. I've had 2 separate procedures in the last 3 weeks, and on both occasions, several nurses told me Dr Diamond is great. That's pretty high praise, & well deserved. Dr Diamond's concern for her patients is sincere and obvious, and is on full display while discussing either a procedure, results, or in the office follow-up.
