Originally from Columbia, SC, Dr. Pearlstine strives to maintain a friendly and comfortable office atmosphere. Some of his areas of treatment expertise include lipid management, hypertension, and metabolic syndrome. In addition to his devotion to his patients, Dr. Pearlstine is also a natural and enthusiastic teacher. For the past four years, he has been serving on the Clinical Faculty Department of Medicine at Florida State University.
Dr. Pearlstine first earned his BS in biology, Cum Laude, from the University of South Carolina. He later went on to earn his MD at Medical University of South Carolina, and he completed both his internship and residency in family medicine at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. Dr. Pearlstine also held the honor of Chief Resident during his last year of training.
Since graduating with his MD, Dr. Pearlstine has stayed very attuned to the development of his field and the quality of patient care on a broader scale. He currently serves on the Florida Academy of Family Physicians Board of Directors, and he also Chairs their Quality Practice Management Committee. Dr. Pearlstine even furthered patient care from a state level for six years on the Medical Advisory Committee for Florida’s State Department of Professional Regulations. He loves to spend his spare time with his wife and two children. Dr. Pearlstine is certified by the American Board of Family Practice.
