With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Irwin Schussler offers premier psychological care to members of the greater Austin area. Board certified in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry, Dr. Schussler is able to interact with a wide variety of patients from all different walks of life. In each case, he is an empathetic listener, a compassionate doctor, and fully committed to helping his patients lead healthier, happier, more productive lives.
By emphasizing psychotherapy, Dr. Schussler helps his patients on the path to self-understanding and self-discovery. He works under the philosophy that, while medicine is often a necessary step to wellness, it is not sufficient without extensive psychotherapy. As a result, he believes that patients are best served by being treated medically in combination with therapy.
NOTE: Dr. Schussler is in our office once a week for medication management of the patients in therapy in our office. Also due to time constraints he does not see anyone under 21 in our office.
