Jack Greenwood is a friendly and engaging neurologist providing care for his patients in Port Jefferson, NY. Dr. Greenwood is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He is currently providing care for his patients at his private practice in addition to serving as the Appointed Chief of Neurology at both the JT Mather and St. Charles hospitals. Dr. Greenwood is affiliated with the John T. Mather Memorial Hospital, the St. Charles Hospital, and the Stony Brook University Hospital, where he provides courtesy services.
Dr. Greenwood attended the New York University’s School of Medicine to receive his medical degree. He attended the Mount Sinai Hospital to complete his pediatric residency. Dr. Greenwood then completed his neurology residency at the New York University Medical Center for Adult Services. Finally, Dr. Greenwood attended the New York University Medical Center for Adult Services to complete his pediatric neurology fellowship.
Dr. Greenwood invites patients to receive services that include neurology consults, CT scans, and EEGs. He provides relief and treatment for those suffering with epilepsy, cognitive issues, dizziness and vertigo, torticollis, and dystonia.

I booked this appt for my daughter about 2 months ago. I was relieved to finally get in with a pediatric neurologist for my daughter.
I picked my daughter up from
School early for a 1pm appt.
I drove 40 mins to a CLOSED OFFICE!
I double checked my appt reminder confirmation, that I received Friday evening-and yes, I was there at the right time and day and appt was still scheduled.
Turns out I was left a voicemail two weeks ago from an unknown caller …voicemail states “the office is closed on the 21st and to call and reschedule”. A follow up call or a text to cancel this appt would’ve been helpful-I never got the message- I never would’ve thought this appt would be canceled!
Now I’m back to a longgg wait list for my daughter to be seen, thanks to the inconsideration of this office.

There was a different vibe in the office and it automatically made you feel comforted almost like a visit at a grandparents home.
We were taken to Dr Greenwood's office and shortly thereafter were introduced to the Dr himself. I automatically understood the Grandparent vibe because I know we felt welcomed and like whatever we said we'd be intently heard. That's what we got with Dr Greenwood. He wrote everything down (you won't find this Dr's head stuck behind a computer screen) and he paid attention to every single detail. Nothing was overlooked and nothing was dismissed. He did a thorough neurological exam, explaining as he went, what he was finding and looking for.
Dr Greenwood is old school and that absolutely doesn't mean he isn't up with all the others... If you ask me, Dr's today could learn a lot from Dr Greenwood.
I feel blessed to have found him.

The front desk asked for my actual insurance card but I only have an electronic card through my husband's company. Instead of taking the member number to check, She asked me if any doctor I had the appointment with in the past faxed to them to verify. Well, I have to cancel this appointment and look for another provider in a different area.
For co-pay insurance, please prepare cash because it's the only method they accepted, no credit card, debit card, check.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! I have seen so many doctors in the past, but no one made me feel like Dr. Greenwood. He was the only Doctor that really explained to me different migraines symptoms and treatments. He is patient...takes notes...always likes you to call and keep him informed. Enjoyed every bit of him.

He was very pleasant and thorough. He requested recent bloodwork done by my primary and called to discuss it with me as soon as he received it. He also told me to schedule a brain mri and to contact his office as soon as I had a date in order to schedule an appointment for follow up. Also, his staff was very pleasant and his office had a very relaxing atmosphere.
