Dr. Kuan spoke to me for max 5 minutes. Spoke to his assistant for most of the appointment.
I raised concerns regarding a relapse of an infection, but the assistant assured me that it probably wasn't what was causing my issues. 2 weeks later after being in severe pain (during which I called Dr. Kuan's office and once again the assistant told me not to worry and keep taking the medicine they prescribed), I got tested again for the infection and it came out positive.
Also, it turns out that the medicine I was prescribed by Dr. Kuan was widely used to mediate what I had, but not recommended as a treatment.
To top it off, the receptionist was rude almost every single time I called. Also, don't bother waiting for a follow up call, calling in yourself is more effective.

I first met with the PA Lena, who was very nice and patient, and took a long time to explain the pathology of disease. My actual meeting with the doctor was very brief, maybe 5 minutes. I was disappointed that neither him nor the PA physically examined me or offer detailed thoughts on my symptoms. He did not give possible diagnoses. He merely advised me to get an endoscopy first. Dr. Kuan seemed nice and charismatic, but I wish he explained to me more things in detail and spent more time as opposed to having me discuss with the PA during the initial visit. In my past experiences, the doctor usually spends more time with the patient. I hope that follow-up visits are not relegated entirely to the PA.

I had an endoscopy by Dr. Kuan. At the office I had a general consultation about my health with his PA, who was very professional and immediately scheduled the procedure for me. I saw Dr. Kuan after the procedure. It was a quick meeting, but he was very professional and explained everything in a clear and concise manner.

No conclusion for my condition and not given any direction to turn to after endoscopy, ultrasound, blood tests and urine tests. The endoscopy went very well procedure-wise - painless, professional, but no appropriate place to recoup and come out of anesthesia at a fair pace. It was almost "wake up, get up and go". My condition is still extreme and inconclusive.

Prompt to keep appointment. Professional office staff in both office. Excellent instructions. Made sure I understood what had to be done. Excellent experience at actual colonoscopy. Though busy, the receptionist and Doctor Kuan were attentive, caring and professional. All my questions were patiently answered, actual procedure well done, This knowing Dr. is the one you want to do your colonoscopy and see you through if you have problems that need follow up care.

I recently saw another gastroenterologist for a small problem I've been having and he recommended for both an endoscopy and colonoscopy without much explanation. I felt uncomfortable, so my friend recommended Dr. Kuan. The office was clean and very modern. The front desk was attentive. I was first seen by his Physician Assistant who was very nice and took time listening to my problem. Then I met Dr. Kuan who offered a much more reasonable solution and explained everything that we needed to do. Definitely recommend him!
Tip: no wait time today! (probably because it's a weekday)
