Jacky Mukuna is a dedicated nurse with over thirty years of experience in the medical field. She is known for her diligent work, effective communication skills, and achieving favorable outcomes for her patients in hospital and homecare settings alike.
Jacky began her medical studies in Belgium, where she became a graduate nurse in 1992 and received her bachelor’s degree in Hospital Science and Administration from the Free University of Brussels in 1996. She started work as a Staff Nurse at the Sart-Tilman University Hospital in Liege in 1993.
After moving to the United States, Jacky took nursing classes to acclimate herself to the US healthcare system and began work as a Homecare Nurse with Pavilion Home Care and Esprit Homecare. She gained a reputation for compassionate, excellent work with patients during home visits with both companies. She then transitioned to work in correctional facilities, using her skills to deliver valuable care to inmates.
Jacky is passionate about providing medical care to under-resourced communities around the globe. She has aided medical workers in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and is currently providing support to a nursing school in Kinshasa. She has also volunteered with Alexandria’s School Board Health Committee.
Jacky earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University, studying the Family Nurse Practitioner Specialty Track. She is licensed in Maryland and Virginia.
