To the point, no-nonsense checkup. Got my physical, flu shot, paperwork, and out the door without issue. Exactly what I was looking for. Had a bit of a wait due to a staffing problem, but he apologized, so all was well.

He goes above and beyond your average Dr. Visit. He does a great job explaining a diagnoses and provides great solutions.
I would not return, kept complaining about patients insurance companies. Left with problem unsolved, waste of a copay.
Was profesional and thorough. Good first visit and was very knowledgeable and asked good questions. Would recommend.
Great visit, friendly staff, same day appointment. Don't want to get injured again but if I do I'll book here!

No messing around. The Dr. asked what he could do for me and treated my illness quickly and accurately.
Verified patient
He listened to what I had to say and offered what I felt to be very good advice. I'd see him again.
Verified patient
Seemed a little short and not very compassionate. Not sure if I'll come back.
I had a good experience! Comfortable to communicate with was truly impressed!

i ready think he is one of the best doctor i have seen, very excellent.
Verified patient
He's persona was rude and his tone of voice was demeaning

The doctor seemed to be just going through the motions -very mechanical. All he did was give me paperwork to look for ANOTHER doctor. The nurse left the patient room door wide open when she did my EKG...this allowed every man coming out of the bathroom to see my bare chest. I was mortified. This place doesn’t follow protocol or proper patient privacy
Verified patient
Very insensitive, cold and rushed through my appointment. I took the day off to see him. He did not help nor give any direction on how to fix my ailments.
Verified patient
Really kind guy

Very knowledgeable doctor.
Verified patient
Very quick and impersonal.
Upon visiting Dr. Cordell, I was very pleased to see such personality in the waiting areas with photos of he and his sons. The wait, however was quite long. He was apologetic but coming from work during a lunch break, I could not afford too much time. He met with me for a few minutes and advised me to keep doing what I was already doing to treat myself and get imaging done just to be safe. He recommended me to someone afterwards if the problem persisted. He's very knowledgeable and to the point but a little upset from having to deal with his previous patients, so his tone was a little harsher, but the wait time for me was disappointing. When I was dismissed after being there for already 45 minutes, I went to get imaging done, which took an hour alone - so I ended up being out of the office for two hours plus paid for parking, to basically keep doing what I was doing. I had to end up seeing a specialized physician and wish I just did that from the start. I'm sure he's a great, caring, and quick doctor, but my experience might have been just different.
Never on time. This is a problem.

Very professional with great bedside manner.

Doctor had good bedside manner but was impersonal. I still have the same issue that I scheduled an appointment to resolve. Dr. Cordell thought that my hair breaking and falling out and nails turning white was related to a deficiency in vitamin b or an issue related to my thyroid glands. I was tested for both at Labcorp, then I was mailed test results of normal for both from Dr. Cordell's office and nothing was resolved. I will have to reschedule with a different doctor.

He was great as always.
Verified patient
Dr Cordell was very polite and courteous. He clearly explained risk/benefit of treatment options and was quite straight forward. I will likely use him as my primary care doctor moving forward.
Condescending, dismissive, and uncaring. He did help me refill a med I was out of so that's the only plus. Did NOT make me feel "cared for".
Verified patient
Dr.Cordell is an old school doctor, not a modern Doctor-robots. He takes time to ask the wright questions and is trying to understand what is wrong and to help.
Verified patient
The doctor is very straight forward and factual. He does not sugar coat his diagnosis. It was fine with me but may challenge others.
It took two days to get the two prescriptions he wrote filled. Two calls to his office. The first day generated no response at all.
Verified patient
Although the initial wait to see the Doc was a bit long, I understand that these things do happen occasionally. Once I did see the doctor though, he was very thorough and professional. Overall, I was very satisfied.
I waited almost 30 minutes past my appointment date, even though I was early, while I could hear the doctor on a personal phone call. The three times I came in for a knee injury, his examination was extremely brief. He basically eyeballed my knee and told me to stay off of it. After my three visits, the office tried to charge me for an extra visit. He was extremely nice, but I got the feeling he rushed through to get in and out of the exam room as soon as possible.
Verified patient
I thought he was very professional and his staff was very kind. I went to see him at the end of the day so there was very little wait but it did seem like it had been a long day for him. The parking situation at the office building is also a little strange to get to because it is right next to the hospital in Scripps.

I was late, they were very gracious, got me in. Dr. informed me of new laws, just get to know you stuff. If you like short Dr. appointments you will like this Dr.
Great knowledge and perspective

I just moved to Carlsbad and needed to find a doctor in the area. Dr Cordell is great!! Very nice to work with, addressed all my concerns, really knows his stuff.
Verified patient
My 1st visit to the Doctor but got a very good feeling from the meeting as he took time to listen to me and explain the treatment and medicine being prescribed. Very good bedside manners and nice staff.
Verified patient
Very pleasant. Spent time to discuss health issues. I am looking for a gate keeper to find me specialists when the time comes. I think Dr. Cordell can be that person for me.
Verified patient
What a disappointment. This was my first, and last visit. Do not see this doctor if you or your family member has an ADD diagnosis. He should state that fact very clearly on his website to save new patients from disrespectful treatment. Dr. Cordell was condescending and rude and lectured me about what I had come into to see him about. I had my medical records shipped to him ahead of time and my impression is he just skimmed them and made judgments about my previous doctor's treatment. He decided he had to lecture and brag about his kids' accomplishments to try to prove some point. I tried to engage him to get a clearer picture and he just blew me off and shuffled me out the door. So very unprofessional!!!
Very arrogant ! Spoke to me like I was an idiot! I graduated from Harvard and he was acting like I was a bum of the streets and was getting frustrated and made jokes about the questions I asked ! I never write reviews but I feel it necessary that when one takes time out of their day to make an appointment about their health and has the experience I had they must share! People you have. A lot of good choices do not choose him !!!!!
Quick, efficient, friendly.
He was very knowledgable, took time to answer all my questions and concerns, explained things clearly, and he tailored my treatment to my lifestyle. Very personable. Would recommend to a friend.
Verified patient
Over all negative. He seemed condescending and as if my visit were an imposition. I found his lack of interpersonal skills an impediment to our communication and left me with a sense of disappointment and distrust. Do I really want my life in this guy's hands? I don't think so. I get better treatment from a waitress slinging $2.00 hash.
His staff was friendly and professional.
Very satisfactory
