James A. Golden, MD, JD is board certified in internal medicine. He grew up in Oak Park and graduated from Wayne State University with a bachelor of science in biology. Dr. Golden went on to graduate from the University of Michigan Law School before attending the University of Michigan Medical School in Ann Arbor.
Dr. Golden completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Henry Ford Hospital. He is a member of the American College of Physicians and the Michigan State Medical Society.
Following completion of his residency, Dr. Golden moved with his wife to Long Island, New York where he practiced first in a multispecialty group practice and then opened a private internal medicine practice with partners. He returned home to Michigan with his wife and two daughters in 1999, joining a practice in West Bloomfield before joining Novi Internal Medicine and Pediatrics in 2007.
Dr. Golden brings to his practice his experience and strong interest in helping people adopt healthier lifestyles. He emphasizes preventive medicine such as vaccinations and proven screenings such as colonoscopies and mammograms, as well as treatment of high blood pressure and high cholesterol before they cause problems.

Dr. Golden was so patient, he listened to me and made sure he understood everything I was rambling on about. After he checked me over, he recapped everything we talked about, he made sure I understood what test were being done and what he was looking for. Very happy to find a doctor who cares!
