More about Dr. James Rice, MD
Dr. Rice is a graduate of the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Duke University. He is board certified in both obstetrics and gynecology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. He is also a fellow of both the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the International College of Surgery. He is an active member of the American Urogynecologic Society and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He is also the Medical Director of Gynecologic Services for our practice.
Dr. Rice has over thirty years experience as a gynecologic surgeon and has specialized training in urogynecology, female pelvic reconstructive surgery, robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. He has a special interest in robotic surgery and was one of the first gynecologists in the area to be trained to operate with the da Vinci Robot.
His expertise in pelvic reconstructive surgery for both prolapse and urinary incontinence has earned the respect of the medical community. He was named by Seattle Metro Magazine as one of Seattle’s Top Physicians. Dr.Rice also performs sterilizations, endometrial ablations, hysteroscopy and cystoscopy in our in-office surgical procedure suite located at our Renton office. He also has a strong interest in clinical research and has conducted over 60 clinical trials.
In his spare time, Dr. Rice enjoys cycling, hiking, swimming, mountain climbing, skiing, and kayaking. He is married and his daughter is also an Obstetrician/Gynecologist.
He is available for appointments in our Renton Office.
