Dr. James Stewart believes that gastrointestinal health and well-being are critical to enjoying a healthy lifestyle, and all that Utah has to offer. After completing his medical degree from the University of Utah, he transferred to University of California San Diego where he completed his residency in internal medicine. Dr. Stewart completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at the Banner Good Samaritan/VA program in Phoenix, Arizona and is now practicing at Granite Peaks Gastroenterology in Sandy, Utah. After losing family to gastrointestinal cancers, he is dedicated to promoting screenings for early detection of colorectal and esophageal cancer. Stewart has done research on obesity-related liver disease and other gastrointestinal cancers. Dr. James Stewart is now accepting new patients and offers same day, next day appointments. No referral is necessary and he accepts virtually all insurance plans.

I was happy that Dr. Stewart did not push for a Endoscopy after the first visit. I liked his wait and see approach in my situation.
