Dr. Janelle Vega Mayoral is a board certified dermatologist and received her undergraduate degree from Haverford College in 2002, followed by an M.D. degree in Gainesville, FL from the University of Florida College of Medicine in 2006. She completed a post-doctoral training in Internal Medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, a Harvard medical school affiliate. She also did a year of clinical research at the University of Puerto Rico where she also fulfilled her first year of dermatology training. She concluded her dermatologic training at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where she received an award for Excellence in Dermatologic Surgery. She is the author of several medical articles, and book chapters.
She is originally from Miami, FL and is fluent in both English and Spanish. Her interests include medical dermatology, dermatologic surgery, as well as multiple cosmetic procedures including laser surgery, Botox and fillers.

This was a very confusing appointment! After confirming several times, I was called by the office the day before my appointment, to inform me they had to change due to a death in someone's family. What do you say when you have already driven 150 miles and paid for a hotel? I was not happy! Then I was called back about 1/2 hour later to inform me it was OK for me to come in that day, but could I come an hour earlier. That worked for me. I got to the office 15 minutes early and was given the SAME paperwork I had filled out online, because they could not find it. I finally got into the room 1/2 hour after my appointment time. I finally got to see the doctor 1 hour after my appointment time. I received my procedure 1.5 hours after my appointment time. The procedure took longer than expected because of the technician having a problem with the thermage machine. Finally, 4 hours after arriving for a 45 minute appointment, I was finished! The work was good, but the disorganization was extremely frustrating. I do not think I will go back there.

I see many doctors regularly. This was an amazing experience. The office was beautiful. The girls working there are very friendly and helpful. The doctor is very professional, friendly and made me feel very comfortable. As far as wait time, I got there at 10:20am for a 10:30am appt. I signed in. Within 3 minutes the front desk young lady called me, she printed my paperwork which I had completed online (amazing idea by the way), I signed them and gave her my insurance cards. Within the next 3-5 minutes, I was called. The doctor came in right after her assistant came in and made sure I was comfortable and asked me a few questions. I would not even hesitate to recommend Dr. Vega or the clinic in general to anyone. The experience was amazing!

I had heard the wait times could be long, so it really helps to send them your info beforehand. I waited probably for about 20 minutes, but I didn't mind because I had expected it and everyone was so nice. Someone offered me an espresso shot while I waited, which was awesome. Dr. Vega was professional and kind, and explained herself and my options very clearly and comprehensively. I'm glad I found this practice!

At this office they make your sign a form agreeing in to be charge $ 50.00 for a non show or for late reschedule, but I the same time they reschedule my appointment time and made me wait 45 mins.

I would not recommend Dr. Vega, as she is noticeably hesitant and inexperienced in her field; she was ready to perform a procedure when she abruptly changed her mind at the very last second, and suggested that I go see a different Specialist instead.
