Hello! I am Janet Bock MSN, APRN, PMHNP. My approach to mental healthcare is staying current with evidence based care and maintaining a patient centered culture for the people I serve. I see patients age 6 to 86.
My approach
A team approach is the best way to provide mental healthcare. While I do the medication management, I also encourage patients to also see a therapist in conjunction with medication. Being an excellent listener is key to a successful outcome. I am non-judgmental and encourage honesty when you are telling me you mental health background and your life journey.
My focus
Patients I typically work with have diagnoses such as ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Schizoaffective Disorder, and Grief/Trauma. In addition to medication management, I also provide Accelerated Resolution Therapy and am certified to provide treatment utilizing Hypnosis. My certification is though the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. Feel free to find me on the ASCH web site provider page.
My communication style
Environmentally, I prefer a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere. My lifelong agricultural background and nursing career has helped me be able to feel comfortable working with people in all aspects of life. I enjoy talking to all people, every age, and find each person's unique life experience story a blessing to hear.
My journey to mental healthcare
I am a dually certified Family Practice Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. While doing Family Practice, I realized how much interest I had in the mind of the mind, body, spirit triad of care. The brain is fascinating. When I can help a brain overcome the diagnoses I described above, the patient, their families, and the community they live in becomes better. That's why I do what I do.
