Dr. Ahsan is very efficient and knowledgeable. He gives you a feeling of confidence and is willing to help a patient in pain. He was able to ease my migraine WHILE I was in the office, much to my surprise. I've had migraines since I was a child and seen many, many specialists. Most of the time I would be prescribed medications that made my headache worse. He was the first to actually help with the pain.

Sumner Neurology Associates was formed in August/03, was started in Gallatin, TN by Jawaid Ahsan MD. Very soon the neurology practice was established and we started consulting general Neurology with a concentration in Movement Disorders and BOTOX Injections.
Within a year Dr. Ahsan was recognized as a "Miracle physician Of TN", he was shown on channel 4 local news USA, twice in 2005; he became national speaker for Glaxosmithkline, Pfizer, Novartis, Allergen and Solstice and was appointed Advisory Board Member of Solstice/Allergen Pharmaceutical for BOTOX/Myobloc injections.
Dr. Ahsan is a Diplomat of the American board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has Medical Licensure for Tennessee, North Carolina, and Georgia. He has Hospital Privileges at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, Marietta, GA, Saint Mary’s Hospital, Knoxville,TN, Emory Hospital at Johns Creek, GA and of Smyrna. I had an overall awful and unprofessional experience with Dr. Ashan. He did not shake hands or introduce himself and he left the door open while discussing private medical issues. Additionally, he kept interrupting me when i was talking and only spent 5 minutes total on my problem before sending me off. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.

I arrived at 8:40am for a 9:00am appointment. Dr. Ahsan did not arrive to the office until 9:45am. He immediately called my name to begin my appointment. No apology or statement was made regarding how late he had arrived to the office. We sat down to discuss why I was there. The door remained wide open. I tried my best to explain what I was struggling with. Dr. Ahsan cut me off many times and trivialized the reason I was there as if I had no reason to speak to him. Within 7 minutes of being in this room, he had written me a prescription for 2 medications. I told Dr. Ahsan that I was seeing a psychiatrist and counselor regularly. He quickly told me seeing them was "a waste of time" and that "they are just there to take my money". After once again explaining I had not come to the office to get a prescription, he asked why I was there. I told him I was hoping to get an MRI. He responded "you want an MRI? Sure, go get an MRI, but it won't help you. It will come back normal." Dr. Ahsan spoke to me in a very rude manner the entire time and was clearly in a rush to move onto his next patient. Our appointment lasted a total of 10 minutes. I received absolutely zero help from this doctor. I emotionally proceeded to the front desk where I asked for a refund. The women at the front was very kind and could tell I was upset. She said she had to ask the doctor if I was okay to issue a refund. Dr. Ahsan said he would not offer a refund and that he had provided services to me. This could not be further from the truth. No service was provided. When I tried to ask him why I was being treated the way I was, he said I was "wasting his time." I wouldn't recommend this doctor to my family, friends or anyone for that matter. I am incredibly disappointed. I would urge anyone seeking care in this field to find another doctor.

This is the first doctor that i have ever been to that does not check any vitals. He sit's down in the chair and have you tell him whats been going on with you, and while your talking, he is writing down something then he hands you a prescription and tell you to take that. He never try and diagnose you or try to figure out the problem, all he does is have you trying different medication. I would never recommend him for anyone.

Seemed like he ignored a lot of facts that may have been beneficial to the diagnosis. Not sure why they were forcing to get social security numbers from patients. Told me they'll schedule a follow up to get screened but never attempted. Wouldn't give me a receipt for the charges I incurred.

Dr Ahsan is absolutely awesome. I have been incorrectly diagnosed with Epilepsy for over 10 years, essentially because I had good insurance and they would pay for the constant MRI'S and ambulatory EEG'S. Dr Ahsan tells you the TRUTH, along with an excellent bedside manner. He actually cares about his patients wellbing, is sympathetic, compassionate, and LISTENS. he is there to ACtually help-especially single mothers going thru anxiety and stress. This Dr is AWESOME!!!

I have had a couple neurologists before for a condition I've had for years. I liked the fact that he would not assume their diagnosis correct without doing his own consultation. He's funny too! And laid back. His coworker was incredibly friendly as well. It was a good visit.
