Dr. Mermelstein received his DPM degree at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine and received his Bachelor of Arts Degree at SUNY-Stony Brook. Dr. Mermelstein is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the NYS Podiatric Medical Association. He is affiliated with The Mount Vernon Hospital, in New York. He is licensed in New York and New Jersey.

I've been there twice, and was 1000% satisfied both times. I spent more time traveling to the doctor (15 minutes) than I did in the waiting room (not more than 10 minutes). Dr. Mermelstein took the time to listen; before doing anything, he had a complete understanding of the issue. The procedure was completely painless. I have several relatives who are podiatrists, but I would rather be seen by Dr. Mermelstein.

My first time to a podiatrist! Not so bad. Was afraid I might need to go under the knife since the pain in my foot is so annoyingly painful. However, I was prescribed an anti-inflammatory and might need a boot to wear at night. We'll see how this week goes. Overall, great experience.

Dr. Mermelstein is very helpful and explains in detail your problems throughly but also considers that you might not be well adversed in medicine. Essentially he explains it to you like your five which is great. Very nice and you can tell he has your best interest in mind. I would highly recommend him and his practice.

The East Windsor office is very conveniently located on 130. It's a small office, which I like. His assistant was pleasant, and although she didn't know I was from ZocDoc until I told her, once I did, it was super smooth to check in. Dr. Mermelstein saw me in a timely manner. He was very pleasant, explained things well, and I left feeling well cared for.

The appointment itself was fine, but the follow up is nonexistent. Dr. Mermelstein promised he would get back to me about something we discussed during the appointment and never did. I called three separate times and left messages with his answering service--which is terrible, by the way--and never heard back. No voicemail, email, missed phone calls, or any sign that he attempted to contact me. Instead of a real receptionist he has an "answering service" where people leave messages that he clearly doesn't care about. How can a doctor be satisfied to see you once and never get back to you about a medical issue? Absolutely ridiculous. If you're just in business to collect insurance money and co-pays, you should let patients know ahead of time that they shouldn't bother trying to contact you after their initial appointment. I paid a co-pay for nothing with Dr. Mermelstein.

Dr. Mermelstein is a very pleasant fella. I picked his office because it is on my way to work and because he is on ZocDoc. The front desk receptionist is also pleasant, and I was seen within five minutes.
Also, my foot is better for having seen him. :)

My first visit to his practice. It was a very welcoming experience. Friendly staff and comfortable environment. Dr. Mermelstein was very knowledgable & provided excellent care with humor and wit. After a brief examination and test, he provided his professional opinions and options. He definitely cares about the patients he work with and provides a Q&A after his check up with you. He definitely gave his professional knowledge, listens to your concerns & provides great simple explanations. The time I entered and the time I have left I spent a total 5-10 minutes ppw & 30-40 minutes with him. I would recommend him!
