Dr. Birchall is a Board Certified family physician. He received his Bachelor’s of Science Degree and M.D. from the University of Calgary, Canada, and completed his residency at Foothill Hospital in the University’s Family Medicine program. He was a staff physician with Palomar Pomerado Hospital, the VA Hospital in San Diego, and physician/Medical Director of the Penn Elm Medical Group in Escondido, California. He was certified by the Canadian College of Family Physicians before receiving certification from the American Board of Family Practice.
A native of Saskatchewan, Canada, Dr. Birchall has been practicing medicine since 1991. At Dermacare, he enjoys the art of customizing just the right treatment or combination of treatments to give his patients the best results.
One reason for Dr. Birchall’s popularity is his calming and straightforward style, allowing him to relate easily with patients on a personal level. He is very active in his church and community, and is an avid ice hockey player.
