About Dr. Shalini Thatte
With well over a decade of experience in the dental field and advanced certifications, Dr. Thatte has proven her expertise in helping patients improve their oral health and happiness. Education and Training
Dr. Thatte attended Bapuji Dental College and Hospital in Davangere, Karnataka, India, where she earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in 2007. She was in the top 1% of her class and received several awards and scholarships from the Indian Dental Association, including a gold medal from Shri Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore.
After completing her undergraduate degree, Dr. Thatte moved to the United States in 2008 to continue advanced dental training. She earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, School of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors and earning a place on the Dean's List in 2012.
During her studies at Rutgers, she completed 300 hours of continuing education in dental implants through the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and a year of advanced training and certification in implant placement and restoration from Smiletube.tv. Dr. Thatte is affiliated with the American Dental Association (ADA), California Dental Association (CDA), San Diego County Dental Society (SDCDS), and the Academy of General Dentistry.
After graduation, Dr. Thatte worked as an associate dentist in Hartford, CT, for a year before moving to Southern California, where she gained years of experience in restorative, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. After nearly a decade as an associate dentist, Dr. Thatte established her own practice in Mira Mesa, San Diego, in 2021.
