I believe in a multimodal approach to managing pain with the goal of improving mental and physical functioning as well as improving quality of life.
Dr. Fitzthum initially trained as a chiropractor at Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon, then went on to earn his MD degree at Oregon Health Sciences University, completing a residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. Following residency he remained in Madison as a faculty member in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine serving in the Pain Clinic and the Spine Clinic. Upon finishing a Masters in Public Health program at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor he returned to the Pacific Northwest and entered private practice emphasizing pain management. Dr. Fitzthum believes in a multimodal approach to managing pain with the goal of improving mental and physical functioning as well as improving quality of life.
