Just had my first appt with Horacek. Definitely the best general doctor I've seen-I was seen right away even though I was early, the front staff was very nice and the front office was very clean and professional. Dr. Horacek gave me his full attention and was sure to address my many concerns and gave me recommendations that were close by. He made me feel in control of my health and respected my views on medication being a last resort.

At this time, our office does not take patients that do not have insurance. Dr. Horacek has over eighteen years experience in the primary care field. Growing up in a large family in a small Oklahoma town, Dr. Horacek learned the value of helping others and the importance of community. Inspired and encouraged by his mother, a nurse, he developed an interest in helping others through the medical field.
Reflecting on his upbringing, Dr. Horacek remembers, “I was always interested to hear my mother’s work experience and stories. She also has a very big heart and has always demonstrated the importance of empathy. I guess it has rubbed off on me.” After an early education in Oklahoma and graduating from the Univ. of Oklahoma Medical College with distinction, Dr. Horacek moved to Oregon to finish his medical training. He completed his residency at Providence Portland Medical Center where he also served as chief resident. He has been board certified and practicing Internal Medicine since 1995. He continues to stay up to date on the latest evidence-based primary care principals.
He especially has enjoyed learning how to work as part of a person's "health team". This is a very "client-centered" approach. He works closely with a health coach in his office, helping people with visioning their best self, setting goals and optimizing lifestyle changes to be as happy and healthy as possible, no matter what the medical issues are. Dr. Horacek has a strong calling to help people with health issues by empowering them so they don’t feel afflicted by their medical condition. Instead, he helps patients to find a way to grow and transform their lives.

Unfortunately I felt that Dr. Horacek did not listen to my concerns very well. I tried to explain I had already tried the course of action he was suggesting and it didn't seem to matter. He was helpful in getting me bloodwork done and was very polite. I would potentially recommend him to others, I just don't think he was the right doctor for me.

Dr. Horacek was very friendly and personable. He took a lot of time to ask questions and to make sure all my concerns were covered. I did not feel rushed at all and felt that he really listened. The rest of his staff - from reception to nurses- were also very nice and very professional. This was my first visit in this office, and I would definitely recommend this team.

Great bedside manner, very personable and wanted to get to know me as a new patient. One thing to bear in mind is that they want you to get there at least 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to fill out all their forms and such--I was going to be 5 minutes late to the original time I'd scheduled and when I called right at the appointment time, they made me reschedule for another day entirely because their schedule was entirely full and it would've pushed everything back. But, I'm fine with it in the end because when I did get to the next appointment, I was seen right on time. So just something to bear in mind.

Kind. Attentive. Very relaxed and professional. In a world full of tricky healthcare and questionable help, he is a star. He will recommend a western medicine style of treatment or help you with some holistic/more natural types of treatment as well. Open and organized, in fact my whole family sees him and didn't even know it until we started talking about how much we love our doctor! A++ Keep it up sir!
