He also enjoys helping guide patients through their health care decisions, and believes in the benefits of better self-care and improvements in lifestyle choices. “It's a privilege to be a witness and trusted partner in some of the happiest and most challenging parts of people's lives,” he says. Dr. Hays earned his medical degree from Emory University in Atlanta and went on to complete his internship and residency programs at Oregon Health & Science University. Born and raised in Georgia, Dr. Hays cherishes spending time with his wife, whom he met in medical school. Together with their two children the family enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, and going to movies and the theater. He also has a passion for learning new languages, playing the guitar, and singing. As a college student, Dr. Hays studied chemistry and Russian, as well as theater and improvisational comedy. While he chose to pursue a medical degree, he hopes his patients can help him find his way back to humor in everyday life.
