The receptionist was kind of rude, obviously had a rough day. Everyone else was amazing though. Very personable and easy to talk to. I had to wait a little bit between exams but it was well worth it for the care I received. They definitely will have a returning patient!

Dr. Jeffrey Martin was born and raised in Smithtown, New York. He earned a biology degree summa cum laude from Muhlenberg College and was elected Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to receive his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook School of Medicine. Dr. Martin completed his internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York and served as chief resident in ophthalmology at Nassau County Medical Center. He joined his father at North Shore Eye Care in 1997.
Dr. Martin is an assistant clinical professor of ophthalmology at the State University of New York Stony Brook and is an attending ophthalmologist at St. Catherine of Sienna Hospital. In addition, he devotes time to teaching resident ophthalmologists at the Northport Veterans Administration Medical Center. For the last several years, Dr. Martin has been selected for inclusion in "Top Doctors: New York Metro Area" by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. He has also been selected to receive "Patient Choice" and "Compassionate Doctor" awards.
Dr. Martin is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American College of Surgeons and is a member of the Medical Society of the State Of New York, the Suffolk County Medical Society, and the New York State Ophthalmologic Society.
In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Martin serves as Managing Partner of North Shore Eye Care. He and his wife have three children. In his spare time, he enjoys skiing, cycling, and spending time with his family.

No paperwork thanks to ZocDoc, little (very little) waiting time before the visit - a little bit longer waiting time in between tests. Overall, the experience was very positive. The office looks like using state of the art technology and the doctor has very good bedside manner. THis was my first visit here, and I think I found my new eye doctor!

Dr. Martin was pleasant and listened carefully to me. He seemed very thorough and comprehensive during our consult. He is familiar and has access of the latest innovations and technology for eye care. I really felt comfortable and confident in his care. The one downside is the office wait. Everyone there (long term patients) complained of the excessive wait times sometimes in excess of 2 hours. Normally I don't have that kind of time (nor should I wait that long anyway) and hopefully this won't be a problem going fwd.

Dr.Martin is extremely intelligent and thorough. Knowing that I was a diabetic, complaining of blurred vision, he prescribed various tests, including a retinal angiogram. The tests were performed immediately, using very modern equipment. I am a physicist, and asked various technical questions, which Dr. Martin's technicians answered fully, and with enthusiasm. Dr. Martin himself, although very busy, made sure that he had answered all my questions, and in addition explained clearly the cataract operation I will need to have in the next year. I myself just want the facts and need little reassurance, however, many patients do need a certain amount of kindness, and I observed Dr. Martin's care and concern in dealing with anxious patients—a strong point in his favor. I am particular about going to up-to-date physicians who use the very best equipment, and as such I strongly recommend Dr. Martin.
