Dr. Jeffrey Portner was born and raised in the Philadelphia area. As an undergraduate Dr. Portner attended Penn State University, was a member of the University Scholar’s Honors Program and graduated Magna Cum Laude. After being awarded a scholarship from the U.S. Army, he obtained his medical degree from the Milton S. Hershey College of Medicine at Penn State University. His medical experience includes service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps.
After completing a residency in Family Medicine at Chestnut Hill Hospital, Dr. Portner served in the U.S. Army in a variety of locations including Central America .He attained the rank of Major, and remained in the Army reserve for several years after completing active duty military service. Dr. Portner is Board Certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Married with two children, Dr. Portner’s hobbies include reading, classical music and cooking.
