More about Dr. Jeffrey Williams, MD

Jeffrey D. Williams, MD, FCCP is an Assistant Professor of Medicine with the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at The GW Medical Faculty Associates. Dr. Williams earned his medical degree at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, and then remained in New Orleans for a dual residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatric Medicine in 2004, establishing a foundation for delivering optimal patient care. Later, in the wake of the 2009 H1N1 influenza pandemic, Dr. Williams joined a new Critical Care Roundtable for US health policy, cultivating an interest in National health policy. He has continued working with this group and over the last five years, witnessed several initiatives he had championed make their way into our federal health care system. An enthusiastic educator, Dr. Williams is also board-certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine and he expects to be board-certified in Neurocritical Care Medicine by the end of this year.

Very friendly and helpful. I always feel like he is really listening to me, and that I have control over my course of treatment.

This doctor is seeing more patients in GW hospital in the past so his availability and wait times have increased. He is a good doctor but I am a little undecided right now about staying long term due to the fact that if you are sick and call it is months before you can get in (this happened to me twice). This last time I waited in the exam room for about an hour and ten minutes before he came in and then there was something wrong with the computer or something to where he could not look at the x-rays I brought. Considering how much a specialist is it is a toss up on if this is the right one.
Dr Williams is a very caring doctor. Besides his professionalism, he always makes me feel taken care of. He goes above and beyond to find the problem and to prescribe the best treatment. I like that he always remembers his patients not like other doctors who never remember who you are. He knows his area of expertise very well!

Dr. Williams does a good job of listening. Today's appointment went well, we went over test results in part. Some of the flow of things was a little off and it took more time because he had a medical student with him, but it doesn't change my rating at all.

Dr. Williams had an excellent professional manner. The wait time in the waiting room was too long especially since I had made an on-line appointment and quite a few patients who had arrived after me were called and seen before I was. Seemed the office staff was overworked and somewhat inefficient.

Being new to the area, I arrived a little early for my appointment. I was pleasantly surprised that I did not have to wait until my appointment time to be seen. The best part of my consult visit with Dr. Williams is that he thoroughly listened to my health history and provided excellent bedside manners. I look forward to a great partnership with Dr. Williams in maintaining my pulmonary health.

This was my first visit. We are exploring options and taking tests to determine a diagnosis. Dr. Williams took considerable time with me to ascertain my concern and to answer all questions asked. I appreciated this exploratory approach to my condition and his allaying my concerns for being in any immediate need for treatment.
Verified patient
Dr Williams took the time to really listen to what I had to say and then he established a plan of action to resolve issues. I really appreciated that he listened to what I had to say.
Verified patient
Dr. Williams was attentive and did a very good job listening to what I had to say about my current health and history. He took the time to try to understand my unique body and start to make a plan going forward. Unfortunately between when I made the appointment and the day of the appointment I got sick with a sinus infection that wanted to share itself with my chest. This didn't phase him and he was able to incorporate that into the plan. I am really glad to have found Dr. Williams and am looking forward to working with him in the future.
Verified patient
Dr. Williams spent a longer time with me than many doctors do and answered all my questions thoroughly. He explained tests that I had had and took into account my wishes for further testing.
