My first visit with Dr. Lui and I was very impressed with her professionalism and how thorough she was. Dr lui was very patient and took time to explain everything to my daughter and me. Dr. Lui has a great bedside manner which made me feel very comfortable and at ease. I'm glad I waited and was able to get an appointment with Dr. Lui.

My appointment with Dr. Liu was great. She was very helpful in explaining the details of my problem and she has great bedside manner.. However, ZocDoc dropped the ball and did not inform Dr. Liu's staff of my appointment. As such I waited for over 90 minutes to be seen. This was after several confirmations from ZocDoc regarding my appointment. Not impressed with ZocDoc.

Dr. Liu grew up in the Boston area. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she received a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors and a minor in Chemistry. After college she was a research laboratory assistant at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School. Her basic science research focused on the molecular kinetics in Gastroenterology diseases. Her team efforts were published in Gastroenterology and the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences journals.
Dr. Liu attended University of Massachusetts Medical School where, to her great surprise, she fell in love with the art of Surgery and the field of Urology. Having special interest in Urologic Oncology, she went to University of Southern California for her General Surgery Internship and her Urology Residency. She had extensive training in both open Urologic Oncology and Minimally Invasive Urology with pioneers in both fields. During that time she co-authored a review of the book Diseases of the Kidney and Urinary Tract that was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association. Her training continued with a fellowship in a Minimally Invasive Urology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center that focused on Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery, Robotic surgery and Endourology.
Dr. Liu’s professional society activities include the American Urologic Association, the Society for Women in Urology, the Endourologic Society, the California Medical Association and the Massachusetts Medical Association.

The appointment went fine. My only issue is that Dr. Liu forgot to write another medication on the prescription I was given and I failed to notice. I called the office this morning, butt no one has gotten back to me. I really hope I can get it for the weekend.

I was so impressed by Dr. Liu. She was smart, kind, and completely non-judgmental. She made what I expected to be an uncomfortable, embarrassing doctor's appointment almost enjoyable. If you're looking for a doctor who will take the time to have a conversation with you - and who actually seems to care - I would highly recommend Dr. Liu.
(Note: I am fat and 99.99% of doctors take one look at me and assume that whatever my medical complaint is (from a sprained wrist to a sinus infection,) it's definitely because of my weight. Dealing with weight bias in medical care is exhausting and dehumanizing. Dr. Liu did not mention my weight even once - which is great since the problem I was seeing her about had nothing at all to do with body size.)

Dr. Liu was courteous, friendly, and extremely professional. She listened well, and knew how to suggest her recommendations so that it made me part of the care team, as opposed to one who simply must follow orders. She presented my options clearly and unambiguously, which is a rare thing to come across these days. I was wholly impressed, and feel confidently about moving forward with her as the head of the team. Thank you, Dr. Liu!!!

I put other doctors up to her standard and unfortunately most are failing. It's so hard to find such a good doctor that really tries to get to the root of the issue and not just simply administer meds right away.

I first set my appt with Dr. Liu through Zoc Doc and it was quick and easy. However when I called the office with a question I was tempted to cancel the appt. After being placed on approx. 10 minute phone hold, a person would finally come on, say "Hello? Hello?" and disconnect. This happened 2 times! When I arrived early for my appt I learned that Dr. Liu shares office space and the shift before hers cannot even give her patients a sign in form. By the time she and her crew arrived and they began taking patients, I was seen 80 minutes later than my scheduled appt. If I weren't so in need of a doctor I would have walked out. BUT ... after this bumpy start, was completely impressed with Dr. Liu. She was thorough, professional, unrushed, and very personable. I would definitely see Dr. Liu again, and I will use Zoc Doc to set my appt again. As for the long wait, I guess I will try not to schedule my appt at shift change time, which appeared to be midday. It's a shame the telephone answering service and the wait were such negative experiences.

Words cannot explain the brilliance and care Dr. Liu extends to her patients. She is a positive and knowledgable doctor that managed me with while I was in a pretty critical place in life. She was available for consulting me when I needed it most, comforted me and had a positive outlook for the road I had to take to heal, and also gave me the most accurate directions on my journey along the way. She is the doctor that patients would feel lucky to have. I don't know where I would be without her expertise.
