During her younger years she developed a passion for investigating the powerful effects of food on health. She gained invaluable experience as a working mother, military veteran and military spouse which inspired her to pursue her passion to use food to heal and earned her Registered Dietitian certification in 2012. She spent the first 5 years of her career working with Veterans in the VA MOVE Weight Management Program. After witnessing the impact of diabetes on members in her family and the BIPOC community, she focused her education and training on becoming a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist in 2016, and has been helping her clients to prevent or manage this chronic disease.
