Dr. White-Baughan, Ph.D., is a seasoned psychologist with 29 years of experience, primarily in private practice, working with children and adults across trauma-related areas such as child abuse, molestation, rape, assault, victims of crime, domestic violence, and war-related response. She earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Alliant International University, San Diego, completed her bachelor's at Seattle Pacific University, and holds an associate’s degree from the University of Charleston. She also did postgraduate work at UC San Diego Medical School.
Jennifer has taught psychology at the graduate level and about Post-Traumatic Stress to international and domestic populations—in Sri Lanka after the tsunami and in West Africa following civil war. Her knowledge of trauma and recovery is a lifetime of work, deeply informed by her own trauma history and healing journey.
She has worked extensively with high-conflict divorce and parenting issues related to divorce. Clients describe Dr. White-Baughan as warm, trustworthy, and creating a safe space. She is a wise clinician who guides clients through trauma healing with many tools, deep discernment, commitment, and expertise. She is known for being intuitive and spiritually deep.
Dr. White-Baughan has two grown children; her daughter lives in Mill Valley, California, and her son is in Sacramento. She loves dogs, gardening, and all things sentient.
I love what I do as a psychologist and trauma specialist. Trauma clients—and all humans—want to feel safe and understood in moments of vulnerability; they want to be listened to and heard, seeking tenderness and forgiveness from themselves in healing. My clients want to know they are lovable. I practice from the space of vulnerability as strength and resilience as the potential outcome of suffering. I ground my work in empathy and continually equip myself with new tools, information, and deep reflection. I am seasoned and efficient in my practice.
