As an advocate for women’s health, Dr. Jennifer Whitelock aims to foster mutual respect and honest communication to build a compassionate relationship with her patients.
She was born in New York and was raised in Florida. She graduated from Harvard University in Boston, where she majored in Biology and obtained a minor in Spanish. She earned her medical degree from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, IL. While there, she also obtained her Master’s in Public Health. She completed her residency training at Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in New Jersey, where she served as a chief resident during her fourth year.
Dr. Whitelock believes that healthy habits such as physical activity and good nutrition can have rewarding benefits to overall well-being and enjoys helping women discover creative ways to be active and balanced. She practices general obstetrics and gynecology and also is interested in robotic surgery and other minimally-invasive procedures. She also enjoys exploring Houston, traveling to oceanside destinations and learning new line dances.

I have been a patient for a few years and normally like my experience. Today she asked, due to my current weight, if I needed to see a nutritionist. When I said no, I know my problem is emotional eating, she said “well, emotionally eat a carrot. Something with zero calories”. It stung and was very insensitive. I’ve struggled with my weight most of my adult years, and live with anxiety. I tried to end our appointment as quickly as possible after that comment.

The building is easy to navigate. I entered on the 2nd floor from the skybridge and there was a helpdesk person to assist finding the office. The front desk staff was kind and efficient. The nurse that assisted me before seeing the doctor was very helpful, patient, and reassuring. I felt very nervous, probably too talkative, and the doctor was calm, patient, and listened. Dr. Whitelock was knowledgeable and fair, provided feedback, and a quick exam. I felt heard and there are a number of next steps to take. I left informed and with a health care plan for the upcoming weeks and months.

Front desk staff was very helpful & friendly! The waiting area was large enough to comfortably seat patients and had ample amount of hand sanitizer. Everybody wore masks. Waiting room time was a little longer than expected but it was fine because I did not have to wait long in the exam room until my doctor saw me .

Dr. Whitelock and the overall staff were great! I’ve only visited nurse practitioners before in the past so this was my first experience with a gynecologist and I’m glad I chose Dr. Whitelock to go to as my first doctor. There was a wait time which is expected at the doctors office and it still wasn’t extremely long. I would definitely recommend her to anyone in need of a gynecologist and I will definitely visit her again.

My first visit on last year was a little iffy. I wanted to give her a second chance since the first time we didn’t really know each other.
On the second visit it was a little more relaxed. We had things to talk about. When she came in, we talked first about small stuff and shared laughs. I think she’s a really good Dr as she even explains to you, something I never new. I will be seeing her again.
