Jennilyn Jackman Baptiste enjoys educating people about eating right and exercising -- and the Clifton resident hopes Staten Islanders will match her enthusiasm by embracing her message.
"Most of my clients are in Brooklyn, but I'm branching out and hope to develop a following on Staten Island," she said.
A registered dietitian, as well as a certified dietitian/nutritionist, Ms. Baptiste has spent the past 20 years working in medical facilities, nursing homes and private residences. Her clientele has spanned the age range, from toddlers to seniors.
So, earlier this year, Ms. Baptiste decided to take her skills on the road as an independent businesswoman.
"I love working for myself," said Ms. Baptiste, whose home-based firm, LeSash Nutrition & Health, was launched in April. "I love the freedom."

Ms. Baptiste was down to earth and very easy to talk to. While I enjoyed my time and found that she knows her field, I am in need of more structure. I am trying to go through the materials shared but I am not 100% certain that I am sufficiently equipped to really make strides towards changing my eating habits. I look forward to a more informative session the next time we meet and I will be better prepared with questions for her.
