My video call with Dr. Tan was good and bedside manner was as expected based off of previous reviews. There isn't anything exemplary to rave about, as this was a very ordinary visit. That's not to say that the visit was bad in any way. It was fine, but that's about it. She did, however, address my concerns in a professional manner and continuously ask if I had any questions regarding her prognosis. I appreciated that.

Many controlled substances have a high potential for abuse, and overdose on controlled substances may result in death. Without an in person visit, the potential risk outweighs the intended benefit. Dr. Tan grew up in the Santa Ana area and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of California San Diego, followed by a Masters of Public Health from San Diego State University. Her love of science eventually led her to medical school, where she found she could combine her passion for science with her desire to serve her community through helping others be healthy. “I believe strongly in educating my patients to prevent problems before they start. When my patients have more knowledge, then we can work together to make the best decisions for their personal medical care. I chose Family Medicine because it allows me to focus on the whole patient, no matter their age or gender, and build long-standing relationships.” Dr. Tan has a particular interest in women’s health. In her spare time, Dr. Tan enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys exploring new restaurants, traveling, reading, walking, watching baseball and basketball, and eating chocolate.

There was no wait to see the doctor which was nice but when I actually met with Dr. Tan there was something about her that was off putting....maybe she was having a bad day but my visit just seemed super impersonal. I left her office still unsure about the reason I scheduled my appointment in the first place. She never called to follow up or check in either. I was recommended to see a specialist after I reached out. I did have another appointment that was scheduled but I will not be wasting my time here again. I hope others have a more positive experience because I can't say I did at all.

Dr. Tan, in my opinion, is an outstanding physician, and very popular, which sometimes makes it difficult to get a convenient appointment. When it is not an urgent matter, I will wait for an appointment with her, if it is urgent. I will see whoever is available or go to Urgent Care.
