Dr.Jesse was amazing to discover quickly why Jack was having emotional and panic symptoms most of his life. Every doctor we have tried in his past never had a long discussion with Jack and put him on various medication that never helped and made things worse. My son walked out of the office with smiles on his face. He is looking forward to start the correct medicine and working on attempts to better things in his life. ??????

Dr. Jesse Contovasilis is a New York State board certified psychiatrist who provides both pharmacologic and psychotherapeutic treatments to adults with psychiatric disorders. He attended college at The Johns Hopkins University where he graduated phi beta kappa and received his bachelors degree in psychology. He received both his medical degree and his degree in psychiatry from the Stony Brook University School of Medicine where he currently holds faculty appointments in both the Department of Psychiatry as well as in the School of Medicine.
He was twice the recipient of the academic merit award for his performance on the national psychiatric resident in training exam, and he also received the Department of Psychiatry's 'Excellence in Psychotherapy' award upon his graduation.
In addition to his appointments at The Stony Brook University School of Medicine he also is a part time faculty member of the North Shore LIJ health system where he runs the psychiatric consult service at Huntington Hospital.
In his private practice he specializes in anxiety disorders such as generalized anxiety disorder, OCD, Panic disorder, and PTSD.
His approach to treatment centers around seeing each person as a unique individual and then tailoring his approach to match each person accordingly. Whether utilizing medications, talk therapy, or both he believes that with a broad knowledge base and careful consideration of each individual most people can and do get
