I will update this later — proper patient education by both Dr. Patel and the supporting Physician Assistant. The whiteboard in the examination room for drawing diagrams is a great idea an aid to patient education. The staff was competent in coordinating for the supporting diagnostic tests.

Dr Patel was born and raised in Maryland. He had an early interest in the sciences and math. He was involved in numerous extracurricular activities including the Math Team, Quiz Bowl, and It's Academic! He enjoyed numerous sports including basketball and football. He played numerous intramural sports throughout high school, college, and medical school. Dr Patel followed in the footsteps of his brother in the pursuit of a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Maryland. He then went on to graduate with numerous high honors and distinction from the Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. In 2005, he obtained a coveted urology residency position at the prestigious Thomas Jefferson University Hospital Department of Urology. He was selected to become a chief resident and finished with advanced training in robotics, laparoscopic surgery, and endourology. Dr Patel continued his vision of excellent patient care in starting the Advanced Urology Institute of Georgia. As the name implies, his vision is to provide the latest, cutting edge care to patients. Dr Patel is known in the community for his down to earth spirit, personable nature, and philanthropy. He has an outstanding reputation amongst his colleagues and has been voted as Gwinnett county's top urologist.

Dr. Patel is truly an amazing doctor! He is very, very friendly and very professional. He takes time to explain what is going on with your body drawing diagrams and pictures of your anatomy to ensure that you understand it. That way, you know why a particular management approach is indicated. We talked at length, he answered all of my questions, and I feel comfortable and confident that we are managing my situation properly. I would recommend him to anyone needing urology consultations, especially because his staff is very friendly and very knowledgeable!
