Dr. McAlvany earned her medical degree from the University of Florida in 1987. After completing her residencies and chief residencies in Pediatrics in 1991 at Emory University and in Dermatology in 1994 at Wake Forest University, she entered private practice. She joined Dermatology Associates of Georgia, LLC in 1996 and is a current partner. She is Board Certified in Dermatology and Pediatrics. Dr. McAlvany and her husband, William, have four children.

The de was not mean but man did she seem to be in a huge rush, from the second she entered the room. No hi, nice to see you, no niceties at all. Ok fine. No biggie! Barely looked at the mole on my daughters back! Literally glanced and looked awa y and said fine. Didn’t get out the magnifier or light or anything, barely even got close enough to examine it thoroughly. Cancer is no joke ans if like a bit more effort put into examining one, just 1! Mole she has that I needed looked at. She just seemed like she was dying to leave the room as soon as she came in. Not sure if it was just a super busy day or what.

Very short visit. The nurse/medical assistant barely said a word to me as she showed me to a room. The doctor came in for less than a minute and said she would send a prescription over to my pharmacy for my scalp issues that she never looked at. It’s been a month, still no prescription. Never again!
