Dr. Jocelyn Ton is a Therapeutic Optometrist with Optometric Glaucoma Specialist privileges. She attended the University of Houston, College of Optometry. Before graduating, she trained at the US Army Hospital in Wuerzburg, Germany. She has hospital-based training at the VA Hospital in Albuquerque, NM, and was the recipient of the Contact Lens Excellence Award. In May 2000, she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree, graduating magna cum laude. Since beginning her private practice in 2004, Dr. Ton has been committed to treating patients by her motto, “We Enhance lives through Eye Care.” She enjoys getting to know her patients, many of whom have been with her from the start, and will give each patient a thorough exam because she is deeply invested in their health. She likes to remind patients, “You only get one pair of eyes, so you have to do everything you can to take care of them.”
Dr. Ton was born in Cambodia and moved to the United States when she was four years old. She is of Chinese descent. She is married to an American of Guatemalan heritage and they have two young boys. In her spare moments, Dr. Ton enjoys traveling, baking, and reading.

How can you charge a contact fitting fee when you tell the dr the brand of contacts you have been wearing for years and you do not need any follow up visits...I will be contacting the board to find out more information on this...they are already getting money from my insurance and then they wanted me to pay for something that I didn't even need...

The visit with the doctor was great. Very helpful and kind to my daughter. What bothered me some was when it came time to pick out frames. I had specified what side of the room of frames to pick from and the nice ladie in the lobby kept insisting on the more expensive brands like "Gucci" to my fourteen year old. Not appreciated at all nor considerate to the fact that she may not be as careful as she should be with them. Again, the doctor herself was great and answered all questions we had. Very nice, sincere, overall friendly.

Dr. Ton was one of the most thorough doctors I've ever visited. She did my eye exam and found a prescription, had me try on some contacts and then double checked my vision in them. Then she adjusted one of the contact prescriptions a bit after the second vision exam. She really listened when I told what I needed in a contact and gave me some great suggestions. She also was just very friendly and pleasant to talk to, and her waiting room didn't have a very long wait at all (maybe 5-7 mins or so). I would highly recommend her.

Dr. Ton was very knowledgeable. I've been to a couple of optometrist who wouldn't take the time out to explain to me what was going on with my eyes and what I can do to help/prevent things from worsening. The only downfall is the wait time, but to be honest I will continue to get my exams from Dr. Ton because she was so detailed and explained everything well. I'll bring a book or something next time to keep me occupied during the wait.
