Dr. Kalis graduated from Rush University Medical School in 1979 and completed a year of Family Practice residency at LaGrange Hospital prior to completing his residency in dermatology at Rush Medical Center. He practice for three years in Charleston, IL before he opened his Oak Brook practice in 1986. Dr. Kalis has been an adjunct professor of dermatology at Rush Medical School since 1987, working with residents in the dermatology program. He also teaches family practice residents at LaGrange Memorial Hospital. He has received Teacher of the Year awards from residents in both programs.
Active in professional dermatology organizations, Dr. Kalis has served as an officer, board member or on committees for the American Academy of Dermatology, the Chicago Dermatological Society, Illinois Dermatological Society and the Great Lakes Dermatological Society.
