The Dr was great! The only problem is that none of the staff ever heard of ZocDoc and I had to refill out all the history forms.

It may have just been due to being very busy, but the waiting was awful. Once the nurse took me to the exam room, Dr. Otero came in quickly. He was very thorough and attentive. He actually listened to me! I was given prescriptions, but he also went over alternative methods to get to the cause of my pain. I was very pleased with Dr. Otero.

More about Dr. John Kevyn Otero, MD
Dr. John Kevyn Otero is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with additional board certification in Pain Medicine. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of San Francisco and his medical doctorate from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Otero completed his internship at the University of South Florida before embarking on a residency in Psychiatry, also at University of South Florida. Upon completing his residency, Dr. Otero was accepted into a pain fellowship sponsored by the department of Neurology at University of South Florida, after which he was received by the department of Anesthesia at University of South Florida for a fellowship in Interventional Pain Medicine. Dr. Otero joined Tampa Pain Relief Center in 2008. Reflective of his diverse training, Dr. Otero embraces an attitude toward pain management that emphasizes a comprehensive therapeutic approach, utilizing interdisciplinary treatment planning and multi-modal therapies. His practice includes the use of minimally invasive procedures, physical therapeutic modalities and medication management in the treatment of chronic pain. Areas of special interest and emphasis include the interaction between emotional and cognitive states with attendant behavioral changes and pain.

I think he is a good fit for me I will recommend him to my friend I think she will like him also..I had a difficult time trying to get the prescription filled at Walmart and Walgreens they wouldn't fill it.

Awesome! I feel very pleased about my visit with Dr. Otero today :-) My entire visit from start to finish was a very positive experience :-) I was treated with respect, kindness, & compassion by all staff members. In addition, I was very impressed with Dr. Otero's expertise, compassionate, and comprehensive evaluation of all the symptoms I experience with my disease, how my symptoms and the concurrent chronic pain impact all aspects of my daily life, and comprehensively reviewed & discussed with me the lengthy history of my 25 year struggle with RA. We discussed a holistic, integrated, multi-faceted treatment plan, as well as my specific treatment goals.
I felt validated and truly HEARD during my visit, & I left the appointment feeling optimistic and very confident about my care with Dr. Otero & staff.
