The staff and Dr. Could not have been more pleasant or professional. Very nice facility. You will be there for a while. I had 3 different eye tests then saw the Dr. Total time I was there was 1:30-4:10pm. They are very thorough.

Dr. John Michaelos started his practice over 12 years ago and brought with him the skills needed for new technologies that were available for laser vision correction, improved techniques for cataract surgery and new cosmetics procedures. He continues to keep up to date with the latest in technology through continuing education. St. Michael’s Eye and Laser Institute is the only center in North Florida to be honored as an Alcon Center of Excellence. Dr. Michaelos was one of the first ten physicians in Florida to implant the Multi-Focal lens, known as reStor, making him one of the most experienced in the area.
Dr. Michaelos is the surgeon many of your friends and neighbors have trusted to improve their vision and create the flattering new face they happily show the world every day. It’s a tradition of excellence that was instilled in Dr. John by his father, Dr. Louis Michaelos, one of the area’s most respected ophthalmologists for over 40 years. Probably the only complaint is that the wait was longer than expected between arrival and actually conversing with the doctor for the consult - Approximately 30+ mins. between appt. time (I was 10 mins. early) and actually speaking to the doctor.

The wait was way too long. You notified me several times about my appt date and time so you should have a way to notify me that you are running an hour late. My time is just as important as the doctors. I felt the doctor talked down to me when I asked questions. He was rushed and impatient. His assistant also spoke to me in a way that was not proper. Telling me I should go out at night, maybe to a dance. She doesn't know anything about me or my life, why would she say that. I will not be coming back to your facility and would not recommend to anyone.

Completely dissatisfied with my visit with Dr. John. I waited 45 minutes after my appointment time to be taken back by the tech. When Dr. John entered the exam room he cut me off and spoke over me while I was trying to explain what was going on. Then he proceeded to treat me like a child telling me to throw away the tissue the tech had provided me when she inserted numbing drops into my eye and to never told onto a tissue and always wash my hands. I filled the medications only to realize that he never provided instructions on how long to take the prescriptions and when I called his office to ask how long to take them I was told "just take them until your follow up appointment in two weeks." I explained to the staff that Dr. John had requested the follow up appointment to be in ONE week, but that I was unavailable on the only time he had available during the next week. I asked them to get me information on how long I needed to take them because I did not want to use the medication for a week longer than the doctor intended me to use them. I was given no answer. COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY DISSATISFIED. I am an attorney and if I ever treated my clients this way I would be out of business in a heart beat!

I was very pleased with Dr Michaelos and everyone I had contact with at the St Micheal's lasik center. I came in for a diabetic eye exam and what impressed me the most was that no one tried to sell me anything that I didn't want or need, like new glasses or surgery. Would highly recommend.

He took his time answering all of my questions in a manner that was easy to understand. I felt like my care was important to the entire staff and I wasn't just another patient to be shuffled in and out of the office.

I used a Groupon to get LASIK and am 100% satisfied with my decision and the care I received. The wait time could have been a little less and the secretary a little less frantic, but overall I think it was a great clinic.
