Earning the degree of Doctorate of Medicine and completing an internship and residency in internal medicine from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, Dr. Ouderkirk conducted his fellowship in infectious disease medicine from St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York, NY. Prior to medical school, he graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he majored in psychology. Dr. Ouderkirk joined ID Group of Atlanta as a board-certified internal medicine and infectious diseases physician in 2001. He is a board-certified wound specialist with the American Academy of Wound Management, an aviation medical examiner, and has a certification in hyperbaric medicine. Several times a month, Dr. Ouderkirk lectures on various health care topics to physicians, health professionals, patients and the community.
