My visit was due to eye irritation and was made about 3 hours before my appointment time. My wait time was less than 10 minutes, my problem was clearly explained after an exam and an over the counter medication was recommended. I was well pleased with the care I received, the Doctors explanation and the concern shown.

Dr. Schmitz and staff were great, very personable and thorough. I have hopped around to different eye doctors over the years but I have finally found one that I can call my family eye doctor, I have now scheduled my husband and soon my 3 year old. I also got to observe his interactions with other patients and staff, he is always smiling, kind and can tell he genuinely appreciates his team. Glad I made this appointment!

Dr. John Schmitz joined the Wilkinson Eye Center in March 2010. He brings a wealth of professional experience from his own private practice and work in a master optician’s office.
Dr. Schmitz received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Michigan College of Optometry at Ferris State University in 1980. He received post graduate training in visual integrating processing in Sacramento, California in 1992.
He performs eye examinations for glasses and specializes in contact lens fittings, including bifocals, keratoconus and post-surgical fits. Dr. Schmitz also enjoys working with children of all ages.
