Born in Ohio and raised in Chico, California, Dr. Bakos attended undergraduate and graduate school at UC Davis where he received his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Political Philosophy.
After completing thereafter a Master’s degree in Molecular Virology, he went to Texas and entered into the MD/PhD program. He finished his dual degree program in 1993 with an MD and a PhD in Cell Biology and then entered residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston Texas. He completed a combined Internal Medicine/Pediatrics program in 1996 and then remained at Baylor as an Assistant Professor from 1996 to 1999 instructing residents in outpatient medicine. In 1999, he returned to Lincoln, Calfornia where he has worked in various capacities as a nursing home physician, pediatrician, internist, hospitalist and nursing home medical director.
He currently supervises a primary care clinic in Roseville and a medically supervised weight loss clinic in Folsom. In his spare time, he is a violinist and plays chess competitively. He has raised two children who are currently living independently and are gainfully employed!

He was a bit rude. Did not give me the time of day to explain. Gave me his thoughts only. I was in and out within 20 minutes. Not very thorough. Was a bit dissappointed.

I am so impressed by the service that I received at Dr. Bakos office. Not only was the office clean and very beautifully decorated but the staff was so amazing. They are the warmest and most welcoming office that I have come accross. I was also very inpressed with the services that I was provided by the doctor. I was seen by a practitioner who was very warm and made me feel very confortable and she was very knowledgable with my issues. I am so impressed with this office that I am going to switch to them permanently.
