In the early nineties, Dr. Christenbury performed the very first LASIK procedure in the Carolinas. 100,000 LASIK procedures later, he is known as one of the most experienced LASIK surgeons in the world. As an eye doctor, Dr. Christenbury has earned a reputation for his passion for mastering new technologies and his commitment to making the benefits of these technologies available to his patients. He has been performing custom wavefront LASIK , the safest, most precise vision correction technology available, since 2005.
In addition to his accomplishments in laser vision correction, Dr. Jonathan Christenbury is also the most experienced lens implant surgeon in the world. The multi-focal lens procedure helps patients with “over-40” vision achieve better vision at every distance.
Dr. Christenbury is a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Duke Eye Center and spent a year in fellowship training at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, UCLA. Doctor Jonathan Christenbury has reached the highest level of distinction in his field as a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Do not see this doctor. He is rude, abrupt, and spent no more than two minutes with me in total. I have been to eye doctors all of my life and have never had a negative experience until today. Even though you may have to wait longer to get an appointment with another doctor, it is worth the wait Now I know why it was so easy to get an appointment with him.‘

My visit was amazing! The staff were all very friendly and made me feel at home. When I first met Dr. Christenbury he reassured me that LASIK would be effective for me and made me feel very comfortable about the procedure. Before the surgery I was 20/400 and almost legally blind! After my eyesight has never been better. It felt so great not to have to wear glasses or contacts and my eyes felt great! I enjoyed my experience and recommend Dr. Christenbury at Christenbury Eye Center to everyone!

The doctor seemed nice. However, the staff was very impersonal. The woman who took me through the tests also never changed her gloves as we went from room to room and she touched keyboards and put drops in my eyes. Also she was wiping down the equipment with alcohol but the drying it with a tissue, not allowing the alcohol to kill the germs. I think she needs a lesson in sanatation. I told her once she need bot dry it off and she said she did need too. I was put off by all of this.

Christenbury Eye Center has totally changed my outlook on life! After having lasik with Dr. Christenbury, my vision is 20/15 in both eyes, meaning I'm seeing better now than I was with my glasses and contacts. the procedure was quick and painless. I'm so glad I made the decision to have lasik with Dr. Christenbury. He's given me the chance to look at life in a whole new light!
