my son's injury is "very significant" according to Dr. Jaivin. My son and I thought that Dr. Jaivin was very knowledgeable, gracious, and humble. The office staff is wonderful. Dr. Jaivin recommended my son to another physician and the staff took a great deal of time to get everything in order for us to have a smooth transition. We will continue to see Dr, Jaivin for my son's long term needs.

More about Dr. Jonathan Jaivin, MD
Dr. Jaivin was raised in Connecticut and graduated with honors from Brown University.
After performing research in micro-surgery and limb development at Massachusetts General Hospital, he attended the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. In medical school, he received academic awards including Excellence in Orthopedic Surgery, and was elected president of his class.
After Internship and Residency in General Surgery at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Jaivin completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut Combined Program. He joined the Southern California Orthopedic Institute after completing a Fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston.
Dr. Jaivin served as a Medical Volunteer in a mud-walled clinic in East Africa and has traveled extensively in China. He has co-authored a book chapter on tropical medicine and has authored a variety of articles on orthopedic surgery topics. He is actively involved in orthopedic research.
Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, he is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and an active member of the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society. As the Team Physician for Notre Dame High School, Dr. Jaivin is active in the care of local athletes. He is a Qualified Medical Examiner (Q.M.E.) for the State of California Industrial Medical Council Department of Industrial Relations.
Both Dr. Jaivin and his wife, Melissa are avid outdoor enthusiasts and enjoy biking, running, sailing and swimming.

The doctor is competent but the wait time was one hour. I asked the receptionist when I arrived whether the doctor is running on time and was told that he was. Being lied to does not feel nice.

The issue I came in for I really felt that Dr. Jaivin listened and the options he spoke of was absolutely more than I could have hoped for . I really felt like for the first time in my life I was speaking to someone who really cared about the solution to my life long problem with my foot .

For the first time I understand what has happened with my foot. He isn't the greatest with the bedside manner, but he explains evrervything beautifully & I would recommend him to anyone who has had difficultly getting answers. He is very conserative & will progress as needed.
