Dr. Alberty is a board certified General Surgeon with fellowship training in breast surgical oncology. His diversified expertise includes all areas of benign and malignant breast disorders, with a special interest in breast cancer. He has extensive experience in breast ultrasonography, sentinel lymph node biopsy, and nipple and areola-sparing mastectomies. As a "Hidden Scar" certified surgeon, he employs a number of oncoplastic techniques during his breast cancer operations. He works in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of physicians and other support staff members to ensure patients receive appropriate and up-to-date treatment always in line with national standards.
Dr. Alberty's research interests include partial breast irradiation, inflammatory disorders of the breast, and racial disparities in breast cancer. He is fluent in Spanish, his native language.
