Dr. Cortes embodies the American Dream. Born in Cienfuegos, Cuba and raised in Brooklyn he has overcome many disadvantages through dedication to school and hard work.
A nationally ranked body builder Dr. Cortes spent several years working as a personal trainer before becoming a chiropractor. One day in November, 1996 he sustained a serious injury while training. Dr. Cortes had experienced injuries before while playing college football, but this was altogether different. He experienced shooting pains down one leg and sharp jolts with any movement in the low back. He met a local chiropractor and after successful treatments, Dr. Cortes found his life’s purpose in Chiropractic so he enrolled at Life University (Atlanta, GA).
Immersing himself in the in the Gonstead Technique, Dr. Cortes earned the Gonstead Student Certification for proficiency and became a lead instructor for the Gonstead Club. He also founded the Gonstead Mentorship Program at Life University, which continues today to prepare students for clinical work.
Dr. Cortes is a Gonstead Diplomate and recently received his basic extremity certification that allows him to treat conditions of the extremities. He is looking to continue to expand his abilities, and is pursuing his certifications in Wellness and Chiropractic BioPhysics (CBP)
Dr. Cortes feels that chiropractic care is extraordinary in what it can do for his patients because it addresses the cause of the problem and doesn’t just try to treat the symptom. It also allows the body’s ability to heal itself to function optimally.

Dr. Cortez has done wonders for my back. I have gone from chronic injuries over the last 5 years to feeling better than I can ever remember. He's an extremely talented chiropractor and definitely doesn't do the "one-size-fits-all" adjustments that I have had in the past. Highly recommended.

Very specific adjustments delivered with the highest of expertise. I am a fan of Gonstead technique and he is a diplomate, which is the highest rank a practitioner can earn and he has been one for many many years. I also had an elbow issue and an ankle issue and his training in extremities adjusting was just what i needed.
After asking his other clients if it was OK for me to witness their sessions with Dr. Cortes, I have been present while he adjusted the frail elderly and have seen him work on huge powerlifters and all benefited from his great skill and ability to change his technique as best suits the individual client and their unique and specific needs.

Dr. Cortes is great. He's very knowledgeable and will answer all your questions; really taking the time to make sure you understand why he's doing and/or recommending certain things. He's got a great, relaxed demeanor that makes you feel completely comfortable as a patient. I'm always seen very quickly upon coming into the office, no waits at all so far! Definitely recommended.

Dr. Cortes is truly an expert, both as a clinician and an educator. He practices Gonstead technique (which he will happily explain to any patient), and so i am 100% confident that he is applying his skills exactly where i need them most. His chiropractic adjustments are unquestionably top-notch, and he informs me of the logic behind his methods in a clear and patient manner and gives very helpful homework exercises to assure that I am making optimal progress with my issues. I could not recommend a chiropractor with greater enthusiasm. He has helped me with many of my sports injuries from my demanding martial arts involvement and I strongly advise anyone and everyone to seek treatment from him.

He was awesome! I've been to other chiropractors before, but didn't feel like they cared as much as Dr. Cortes did. He took time in the beginning of my appointment to go over my concerns before he even did any sort of adjustment. He's also hilarious and makes you feel right at home! I'd definitely recommend him.

Dr. Cortes was fantastic! I am always seen immediately and he really takes the time to ask in depth questions and get to know me and my medical history as well as possible in order to appropriately diagnose and treat my issues. He is extremely easy going and very funny. I've really enjoyed my appointments with him and his office staff and fellow associates are also really amazing as well. I highly recommend this practice!
