A native Floridian, Dr. Jose L. Martinez obtained his Medical Degree, Residency and Fellowship in Gastroenterology from the University of South Florida College of Medicine.
Dr. Martinez is Board Certified in Gastroenterology and Internal Medicine; and has been in private practice in Florida since 1997 as a partner of Digestive Medicine Associates. The wait time was terrible for both visits, way over an hour. Dr. Martinez was great himself but the staff and facility was a mess. The waiting room was very depressing with a broken tv, very small windows and 2 facing rows of over 30 chairs. There was a doorbell at the front desk, which was guarded by a window. The place looked like the waiting room in Better Call Saul.

I was very disappointed with Dr. Martinez' bedside manners. When I had the colonoscopy done I was in a lot of pain. I told Dr. Martinez about my twisted colon before the procedure and he said it was ok. I know he had a lot of patients and everything was a bit rush rush but when I mentioned my pain, one of the nurses just pressed hard in my belly twice because she said it was gas. It was very painful and I asked to see the doctor. He came and said that my colonoscopy came out good but he couldn't do anything about the pain because it was gas. I thought this was an inappropriate answer. I had to search myself for ways to improve my condition, finally even took Ibuprofen 800 for inflammation, and after three days i still feel pain in my belly. Maybe is my colon, but this doctor is not to my standards as a caring professional

I had the worst experience I have ever had going to a doctors office and I Will never be back. Apparently when you make an appointment on zocdoc you must call to verify. It was unprofessional that I needed to call my insurance for them to talk to in order to verify my insurance. A nurse could not communicate with me properly in english as it may not have been her first language. The doctors assistant was HORRIBLE TO ME. She kept cutting me off and the doctor seemed to not want to understand my concerns with my issue. My primary doctor highly recommends testing be done and I feel as though I was not treated properly to trust testing with this office. My experience was very stressful and disappointing.

Siempre la primera visita es mas lenta, pues uno tiene que llenar todos los formularios que el Medico solicita de cada uno de sus Pacientes, lo cual es normal.
