He told me things no other doctor has told me throughout my experience this past several months with my pain. He explained his plan to me and set up appointments for shots and further testing. Very educated, explained in layman terms I could understand. I'm so very thankful I found him through ZocDoc!

Dr. Jose E. Sarria founded the Peregrine Institute in the Tampa Bay area, Florida with the goal to fulfill the unmet need for specialized cancer pain and symptom management in the community. The physicians at The Peregrine Institute work tirelessly to make a difference in their patients’ lives. Passion and purpose are the foundation of their work ethic.
Dr. Sarria believes that many patients inflicted with cancer pain and other symptoms are being under treated and misunderstood. Future projections indicate oncology and primary care physicians will be in short supply while cancer rates continue to climb and according to the National Institute of Health fact sheets, pain may even constitute a barrier to cancer treatment. Sadly, many cancer patients are experiencing increased financial, medical and systemic flaws in our healthcare system. Dr Sarria was listed on Zocdoc as in network for Tricare, but this was not correct. His office also confirmed that he was in network, and they had received my authorization. All wrong.
I was wrongly billed for this visit because the doctor had let his Tricare provider status lapse. It was not my error, I should not be held responsible.
Dr Sarria should not tell patients he is in network when that is untrue, and I advise you to avoid this office.

I had an awesome experience. I usually don't write reviews, but the experience was great starting from the staff at the reception. Front staff were very corteous and friendly. Dr. Sarria took his time to assess and explain every detail. He was not rushed and answered all my questions. I had this chronic pain in my neck which I had already seen other doctors, and with his treatment it has gotten so much better.
