Hi, I'm Joe Keifer, founder and psychologist at Princeton Counseling and Psychotherapy. My approach to therapy is grounded in creating a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you feel truly seen and heard. I integrate humanistic and person-centered techniques that honor your unique journey, while blending in evidence-based methods like CBT, CT-R, and ACT. Everyone's journey looks different and so should your therapy. My goals are to support you as you reduce or manage your symptoms, help you build a life that aligns with your values, and foster a sense of well-being. No matter how serious your challenges may seem, there is hope!
Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety, psychosis, or some other mental health challenge, I provide a treatment (recovery) plan that is individualized for you. This helps create hope and a shared vision for the path forward. I also teach practical coping skills and provide outside-of-session support and action plans.
I know that starting therapy may feel like a huge step. You are not alone. I encourage you to reach out so we can start to figure out what path might work best for you. I provide services via telehealth to the Princeton community, but I am also licensed in NY, CA, and PA. I also see clients virtually in any PSYPACT state.
