Joseph Zajac was born and raised in New Jersey. He attended Boston College for undergraduate degree in biology and psychology. He attended Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara in Mexico for medical school and then completed undergraduate medical education at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine in New York.
Dr. Zajac remained at the Mt. Sinai Hospital for two years in general surgery training. He then moved to Downstate/Kings County and completed his urology training in 1992.
He moved to Bronxville, NY to private practice in urology in 1993. He currently lives there with his wife Nancy and three children.

Dr. Zajac is very friendly. However, I felt he did not listen to me when he prescribed me a new medication and I was having side effects to it. I felt rushed during visits and felt he did not take the time to explain things to me. His office staff is entirely unprofessional. After being really sick for a few weeks, I called to ask if I should come in sooner than my scheduled appointment, his office staff was entirely dismissive of me being so sick and in a nasty tone told me that I had a chronic condition and that was just the way it is. I was NOT diagnosed with a chronic condition by the doctor. This was quite upsetting and I did not deserve to be treated that way, especially after being so sick. I do not recommend this office and had a negative experience. I am not one to go to many doctors or write negative reviews generally, but want to share my experience for others.
