Dr. Green is interested in the thoughtful integration of medication, psychotherapy, cognitive coaching, and mind-body practices in achieving emotional well-being. His approach is practical and ranges from concrete problem solving to deep emotional healing work. This approach can reduce the fragmentation in our mental health system in which medications, psychotherapy, issues of attention and mental effectiveness, and mind-body practices are split amongst different kinds of practitioners. Dr. Green works with adult individuals and with couples. He can work with a wide range of issues such as attentional problems, mood disorders, relationship problems, and issues of "finding one's way in the world." In all cases, he considers warmth and humor an important part of treatment.
Dr. Green completed medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (Bronx, NY) and psychiatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. He has pursued postgraduate training in various forms of experiential and present-centered therapies (such as Short-Term Psychodynamic Psychotherapy) and in Emotionally-Focused Therapy, a couples therapy modality. He also has a long-standing interest in and experience with meditative and mind-body practices.
